Education and Research Track Proceedings at Esri Canada User Conferences
The Education and Research group hosted three GIS in Education and Research tracks as part of the Esri Canada User Conferences. Check out the proceedings for this track from the London (April 9), Halifax (November 5-6) and Vancouver (November 13) conferences on our Web site.
This fall, the Education and Research group hosted three GIS in Education and Research tracks as part of the Esri Canada User Conferences. This innovation in 2013 was designed to encourage members of the higher education community to present the latest advances in their use of Esri technology for teaching and research.
Topics discussed included, among others, the following:
- Engaging communities through the Code Red Project
- Western University’s HEAL lab research projects
- Forest Watershed modelling
- Emergency preparedness for vulnerable populations
- The Nova Scotia Health Atlas
- Canadian curriculum review for colleges and universities
- Agent-based modelling for urban simulation
- 3D visualization of hurricane impacts
- Fast mobile curriculum development

We hope to continue this program in 2014 at selected cities on the user conference circuit.
