GIS Day 2015: Join in the Celebration!
GIS Day is an opportunity to celebrate the importance of geographic information systems (GIS) and geography around the world. Host an event to inform youth and educators about the benefits of spatial literacy and GIS in school and in the real-world. Find out how you can get involved!
GIS Day is an exciting worldwide event that celebrates the importance of geographic information systems (GIS) and geography. This year, GIS Day takes place on Wednesday, November 18 during Geography Awareness Week.
If you’re planning to join the celebration, email us to let us know what you’ll be doing. If you’re not sure yet, let us help you! We can provide activity ideas and presentations for your event. We can also connect you with a student studying GIS, or a GIS professional located in your area to visit your class. We’d be happy to facilitate the arrangements for you.
Register your event by September 18 and receive free Esri GIS giveaways for your students. Check out our map showing all the GIS Day events that have been registered in Canada.
Hayleigh Conway, an Esri Canada Education and Research group member, leads a presentation at a GIS Day event in 2014. GIS Day is an excellent opportunity to inform students on the importance of GIS and geography.
If you have a friend or relative who uses GIS professionally or is studying GIS and would like to become a GIS Ambassador, contact us and we can connect them with a K-12 school.
