In Memoriam: Tim Walker

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Tim Walker, Esri Canada’s Prairies Regional Director, on February 24 in Edmonton.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tim Walker, Esri Canada’s Prairies Regional Director. Tim passed away suddenly on February 24 at his home in Edmonton.

Tim’s involvement with the company began 25 years ago when he became an Esri Canada business partner. In 2008, we were thrilled to have Tim join our team and become a significant contributor to the success of Esri Canada, helping to build positive relationships with customers and partners in the Prairies. He was a dedicated employee, colleague and friend to many of us at the company.

Tim will be greatly missed by his wife Debbie and their three daughters. His inspiring work for 18 years with the Southwest Youth Community Basketball program, which provides a positive sports experience for athletes aged 6 to 17, will also be missed by his community.

In an update Tim wrote in 2013 for our internal newsletter, he summarized the successes and challenges his regional team faced that year with this statement, which rings true in this time of reflection on his life: “It has definitely been a wild ride with a lot of breathless moments.”

It certainly has, Tim — we’ll miss you immensely.

Jim Wickson, our Vice President of Sales and Professional Services, will serve as the interim Prairies Regional Director. If you have any questions, please contact Jim at jwickson@esri.ca or 403-767-7103.
