Esri Canada’s Arif K. Rafiq Joins Autonomous Transportation Canada’s Board
Transportation industry manager will moderate a panel at ATC’s inaugural conference
TORONTO—November 28, 2019—The Board of Directors of Autonomous Transportation Canada (ATC) has announced that Arif K. Rafiq, Esri Canada’s transportation industry manager, is joining other transportation thought leaders on ATC’s board.
As a global transportation management systems specialist, Mr. Rafiq has significant experience in managing highway infrastructure, road assets and intelligent transportation systems. His extensive experience in the use of geographic information system (GIS) technology and location intelligence to improve all areas of transportation management will be invaluable to ATC, the only nationally incorporated not-for-profit association advancing the future of connected communities.
“I’m excited about this opportunity,” says Mr. Rafiq. “ATC is not just focused on the automated vehicle’s technology but also its impact on legal and insurance issues and of course on infrastructure for the current Canadian transportation systems.”
Mr. Rafiq will be moderating a panel discussion on “Data, Governance & Policy: Legalities of Privacy, Usage, Sharing, Ownership” at ATC’s inaugural conference, Ahead of the Curve, on Monday, December 2 in Toronto.
