The Red River and Northwest Rebellions of 1869 – 1885 were pivotal events in shaping Canada’s history. Making connections between these events and their causes, consequences and implications will demonstrate their repercussions and influences even now in the 21st century. In this lesson, students will identify key events, battles and persons during this era and investigate how they affected one another, and how they continue to affect us today.
Six by Six for each province and territory
The ArcGIS Online Six by Six is an introductory tutorial that covers some of the basic tasks available in ArcGIS Online. Each activity can be completed in six minutes.

Snap2Map is an application that allows you to create a map tour story map on the go. Upload photos directly from your mobile device to create a map tour story map while you're out exploring. Photos are geo-tagged from your device, and you're able to add captions and descriptions to each photo as you wish. The story map and the attached photos are saved into your ArcGIS Online Organizational account, allowing you to edit and share as you wish.

Angela Alexander is a K-12 Education Resource Developer on the Esri Canada Education and Research team. She has over six years of experience working with educators across Canada. Angela is responsible for producing geographic information system (GIS) and curriculum specific resources, conducting and creating custom workshops for educators and judging and developing the question for the annual GIS Skills Ontario competition in Waterloo, Ontario. Angela has a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Sociology from the University of Western Ontario and completed the Applied Digital Geography and GIS certificate program at Ryerson University.More Content by Angela Alexander
