Resources for online learning at home with ArcGIS

As schools are closed across the country, find out how you can continue to foster learning at home for your students and your own family. This blog includes resources that can be used for at home learning for K-12 students, educators and parents.

A lot has changed in the world since this article “Why Geography Is A Key Part Of Fighting The COVID-19 Coronavirus Outbreak” was written, but one thing that hasn’t is the importance of geography.

During this challenging time, the K-12 group continues to support educators, and now parents in teaching their young learners about the importance of geographic thinking and skills.

We have created an informational story map focused on the K-12 at-home learner. Here you will find useful resources on:

  • How to access ArcGIS Online
  • What is ArcGIS Online and additional apps
  • Getting started resources
  • Additional resources including the Esri Canada Covid-19 Response Hub
  • Using ArcGIS Online in E-Learning

Get started today with the K-12 at-home learner story map.

If you are interested in higher education, there are two additional story maps for you to explore:

We encourage you to share this information and follow us on Twitter @GIS4Teachers where we will continue to add new resources, stories and updates to support the K-12 community.
You can reach the K-12 group by emailing us at K12@esri.ca.

As a parent, educator and remote worker, I know how balancing the demands of family, work and the global situation are changing. Remember we are in this together.
