Map of the Month: Location of Daytime Urban Heat Islands in Montréal’s 2022 Agglomeration (2016 Data)
The Map of the Month for June 2023 is “Location of Daytime Urban Heat Islands in Montréal’s 2022 Agglomeration (2016 Data)”, by the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). This map of surface heat islands is part of a multi-criteria analysis of vulnerability to certain climatic hazards and is part of the 2020–2030 Climate Plan. The goal of the map is to target areas where the temperature is significantly higher compared to their immediate environment from airborne thermal data captured during the day in the summer of 2016.
