BC Assessment has executed an innovative pilot project to explore the feasibility of adopting 3D GIS for assessing condo units in downtown Vancouver. Historically, maintaining property information required multiple sources of data such as building plans, spreadsheets, maps and sales data. 3D GIS combines these different sources into one application, allowing a more streamlined approach for BC Assessment employees to manage and maintain property information.
