Keep your ArcGIS running smoothly with the latest patches released over the past month.

As any car owner knows, consistent maintenance is important for yielding optimal performance. Like a trusty mechanic, Esri Canada’s Technical Support team keeps a close eye on what’s happening underneath the ArcGIS hood to help keep your software running smoothly. With this in mind, here are the latest patches and fixes released over the past month. Remember that your software must be current on service packs to implement these patches and fixes.

ArcGIS 10.2.1 for (Desktop, Engine, Server) Hosted Map Service Export Tiles Dialogue Patch
This patch addresses an issue to allow clients to export tiles and set the export tile count for a hosted map service. The Advanced Cache Settings button in the Advanced Settings tab of the Service Editor dialogue box is where you set the export tiles and export tile count.

Esri Maps for Cognos 4.3.2 Patch for IBM Cognos 10.2.1 and IBM Cognos 10.2.1.1
This patch addresses the compatibility issues that occur between IBM Cognos versions 10.2.1 and 10.2.1.1 and the Esri Maps Connector (i.e. the bridge between IBM Cognos and Esri software).

ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 for (Desktop, Engine,Server) Quality Improvement Patch
This patch addresses issues that may affect workflows and general performance. Esri recommends that all users of ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 for Desktop, Engine and Server install this required patch.

Address Coder 10.2.1 2013 Data Patch
This patch enables Address Coder 10.2.1 to work with Business Analyst 2013 Datasets. After installing Business Analyst 10.2.1, run this patch to enable Address Coder.

ArcGIS 10.2.1 for Server Data License Compatibility Patch
This patch resolves a data license compatibility issue when ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS for Server are installed on the same machine. Without this patch, data licenses registered by ArcGIS for Server using DataLicInstall.exe cannot be read by ArcGIS for Desktop. Conversely, data licenses registered by ArcGIS for Desktop using the ArcGIS Administrator cannot be read by ArcGIS for Server.

ArcGIS for Windows Mobile 10.2 Field Client Feature Patch
This patch addresses two key issues found when using the Windows Mobile field application on a Leica Zeno 5 device, and when using the Identify tool inside the Windows field app.

ArcGIS 10.2.1 for (Desktop, Server) Voronoi and kriging declustering polygon Patch
This patch addresses an issue introduced at 10.2.1 where a crash occurs when a Geostatistical Analyst Voronoi map is created, or when polygonal declustering is performed during kriging in Geostatistical Analyst.

ArcGIS 10.2 for (Desktop, Engine, Server) Shapefile crash on open Patch
This patch addresses an issue introduced at 10.2 to handle issues with Sift-JIS that results in a crash when attempting to open a shapefile.

ArcGIS 10.2 for (Desktop, Engine, Server) Landsat 8 Patch
This patch adds support for Landsat 8 imagery, as well as fixing several quality and performance issues related to raster and imagery data. ArcGIS users wishing to work with Landsat 8 imagery should apply this patch.

ArcGIS 10.2 for Server Security Patch (September 2013)
This patch addresses security vulnerabilities that affect ArcGIS 10.2 for Server. It is recommended that all ArcGIS Server customers apply this patch immediately.

Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.1 Service Pack 1 Patch 8 Create Contours Update
This patch addresses an issue with the Esri Defence Mapping Create Contours python script located in the Defence Mapping Hypsography toolset.
