Spring is here! What a great opportunity to embrace the change of season and new beginnings. Bearing that in mind, why not try a new resource? We have put together resources to help develop the ArcGIS skills of K-12 educators, students and parents who are supporting their children’s learning at home.

ArcGIS Online

Learn how you can create your own fieldwork project using ArcGIS tools available to
K-12 schools across Canada. The learning path will cover the following:

  • Creating your survey using Survey123 for ArcGIS
  • Highlighting your results with ArcGIS Dashboards
  • Putting it all together in an ArcGIS StoryMap

Pop-ups allow you to highlight attribute information in a web map. In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a web map and configure pop-ups in ArcGIS Online using data about the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to create an ArcGIS Dashboard using data on ArcGIS Online or data that you have collected using a survey (Survey123).

Use ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Dashboards to explore real-time data on the COVID-19 outbreak in Canada. Create a web map with layers that automatically update with the most up-to-date information, and create your own dashboard to track changes in the levels of COVID-19.

Angela Alexander is a K-12 Education Specialist in the Esri Canada Education and Research group. She has over 15 years of experience working with educators across Canada. Angela focuses on producing geographic information system (GIS) and curriculum-specific resources, and conducting and creating custom workshops for educators.
