City of Edmonton Next Generation 9-1-1 Readiness

On April 19, 2023, Brandon Mol, Manager Enterprise Geospatial Information at City of Edmonton joined Esri Canada for an update on their Next Generation 9-1-1 readiness. Some of the biggest challenges are not technical, but relate to business processes and relationships. For NG9-1-1, there is not always a clear understanding of the legal, regulatory, and legislative requirements. There isn't yet clarity in scope, timelines, and impacts. There also isn't clarity in leadership, funding and signing authority and there is often a lack of coordination.
