Validate Your GIS Data Against the NENA Standard for NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model W hen your data is provisioned to the NG9-1-1 environment, it must satisfy the NENA data requirements detailed in the NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model on day one. To achieve this goal, it is important to: • Understand the standard to which your data will be evaluated against • Validate the current state of the data • Repeat validation of your data layers until you meet the standard In addition to the GIS Data Readiness Assessment, Esri Canada (in partnership with ESWG), has produced the NG9-1-1 GIS Validator Step 3: Transform and Validate Your Data tool, as a free online service to test and score your data against the NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model. The Validator also provides a downloadable summary of the results, available within minutes. These validation results can then be used by your team to make any necessary changes, and the validation can be repeated until you've achieved your desired result. Regardless of the methods used, it will be critical that your GIS team and NG9-1-1 data providers begin this process as soon as possible to provide the time to perform a thorough assessment and determine appropriate next steps. Review Discrepancies and Focus Efforts Whether you use the NG9-1-1 GIS Validator or other tools, it is imperative that you: • Regularly assess your NG9-1-1 GIS data • Review and categorize discrepancies to promptly address specic data concerns • Track progress, develop solutions, document, and integrate into ongoing data workows for continuous improvement Improve Practices to Surpass NENA GIS Data Standards • It is expected that you provision NG9-1-1 data that is authoritative, complete, current, and correct—meeting or exceeding the NENA standard. We call this "Public Safety Grade GIS data" • Adopt practices for building, testing, maintaining, and provisioning data to ensure success for PSAPs and Public Safety agencies Ready to elevate your GIS data for NG9-1-1 readiness? Discover the power of Esri Canada's NG9-1-1 GIS Validator. This essential resource offers more than 600 tests to ensure your data aligns with NENA standards, helping you: 1. Verify mandatory attributes for GIS layers 2. Align your data with the NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model 3. Continuously improve data quality for public safety Take the crucial step towards NG9-1-1 GIS data compliance. Start validating your data today with the NG9-1-1 GIS Validator. When your data is provisioned to the NG9-1-1 environment, it must satisfy the NENA data requirements detailed in the NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model on day one.
