In Yukon, a Local Area Plan (LAP) is a document approved by the Yukon Government and First Nation’s Chief and Council that guides existing and future development and land use. This map highlights the West Dawson and Sunnydale LAP that covers a small area of approximately 4.4 square kilometres in northwest Yukon. It shows a diverse and inclusive representation of what is important for Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in First Nation citizens, local residents and local government. This is unique as it shows traditional use areas designated by the First Nation, including a community trap line and a birch harvesting area.
