Designed as a large art installation, the Soils of the Annapolis Valley map is a unique study of the soils of the area in relation to the concept of terroir. The work is the centerpiece of the Winegrunt wine bar, located in Windsor, Nova Scotia. With 49 soil types identified and 12 local wineries, this map is used to illustrate the Annapolis Valley terroir and the important role of soil in viticulture and enology, which inform the distinctive qualities of Nova Scotia wines.
