This heat map identifies optimal locations for new cannabis dispensaries in Toronto. The analysis combines the rates of total current cannabis consumption with the percentage of the population that plans to consume cannabis post-legalization and converts the results into a z-score. Next, these scores were applied to dissemination area (DA) centroids to visualize cannabis consumption. Existing dispensaries were overlaid on the map to identify areas with high cannabis consumption that are underserved in the city. Added are top five PRIZM® clusters for cannabis consumption.
