This map is one of a collection of nine thematic maps prepared for the PEI Premier’s Office to exhibit the variety and quality of the province’s GIS data. Other maps in the collection include Land Use, Relief, Fisheries and Bathymetry, Hydrology and Natural Areas, Electoral, Local Government, Transportation and Energy and an adaptation of a historical map. Together, the maps give understanding to the interconnected and layered mosaic that is the island’s geography. Population density was derived by interpolating census and civic address data with ArcGIS Spatial Analyst.
