Reducing childhood obesity rates has great potential to lessen obesity rates in the future. This research analyzes physical activity, food environment and socioeconomic factors that are influencing obesity by applying Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) to model varying spatial relationships. This map shows the percent of variation explained by local models and which risk factor matters in which neighbourhood or set of neighbourhoods. With the help of this map, this research suggests that localized analysis could be a more effective approach to control and manage obesity than a one-size-fits-all strategy.
