When an entertainment company wanted to promote its products at a Montreal street festival, it turned to PRIZM5 from Environics Analytics. The segmentation system, which classifies Canadians into 68 lifestyle types, allowed the entertainment company to identify the lifestyles of households within a 15-km radius of the festival site. Using ArcGIS 10.2, analysts created this map of downtown Montreal's top PRIZM5 segments based on population size. With this lifestyle portrait of Montreal, the company was able to better tailor its merchandise and promotion message to the city residents most likely to attend the festival.
