This map displays the Hope Bay greenstone geology belt in the western region of Nunavut. The lithological units are enhanced with a digital elevation model (DEM) hillshade that displays the original geological mapping captured by Stubley in 2011. The region is home to an approximately 80 km-long Archaean age greenstone belt that consists mostly of mafic volcanic rocks. It is also home to TMAC Resources’ flagship Doris gold mine currently in production and Madrid gold mine currently in development.
