This map details the final Franklin Expedition (1845 – 1848). It shows the route which the two ships, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, took to discover the Northwest Passage. Unfortunately, the expedition was not successful, resulting in the entire crew and both ships disappearing. With the use of LiDAR and traditional storytelling from Inuit people, the locations of the sunken ships were recently discovered. This theme is explored using a terrain-style map inspired by Imhof's topography style.
