The Department of Energy, Mines and Resources develops and implements planned land-development projects outside of the City of Whitehorse. This is done in cooperation with local municipalities, local advisory councils and communities. Existing official community plans and local area plans are used to guide development. The Department created this land use designation map to guide existing and future land use within the boundary of the associated local area plan. This map shows development area regulations with zoning in place and local area plan boundaries under development within the Greater Whitehorse Area.
