7 Data Quality Checks for NG9-1-1 As well as standard geometry checks (e.g., gaps, loop-backs, overlaps, overshoots,), mapping editors should perform the following checks to ensure road centreline data is correct for use in NG9-1-1 systems: • Roads must be segmented at intersections, including at ramps and road structure end points. • Road segments must be segmented where they cross at an emergency service's polygon boundary or at an administrative area boundary, such as a municipal boundary. • Address ranges in connected road segments cannot overlap. • Address ranges cannot have negative numbers. • Address ranges cannot have an invalid sequence. • Speed limits range between 5–120 kph. 8 References Community Map of Canada (2019).
